This project is about an orphanage in the Faroe Islands, where the child care is combined with an artist residency. Domestic trauma is unfortunately an orphan’s reality, and by utilising artistic methods, led by the artists, one can help them cope and heal from their issues; ensuring the best possibilities for those who have been born into troubled circumstances.

The walue of Local Identity is rooted back to the historical building culture.

The architectural forming and choice of materials are much inspired of the older building tradition, however, modernized for the common demands.

The working site model shows how the buildings cluster and create spaces between and in the middle of the cluster.

The workshops in the cluster create a courtyard to be the heart of the cluster while the private zones are facing towards the landscape.

The reason the artistic programs are distributed, is to increase interaction between the residence of the cluster.
