Registrations for the International VELUX Award 2024 for Students of Architecture are open  The VELUX Group invites the students of architecture to participate in the International VELUX Award competition on the theme “Light of Tomorrow”. The 2024 competition is the 11th edition, which so far has received thousands of exciting daylight projects from more than 6000 students of architecture around the world. Since the International VELUX Award for Students of Architecture was first launched in 2004, it has grown into what is probably the largest competition for students of architecture, the architects who will shape the buildings of our future.  The award invites students to explore the role of daylight in architecture and inspire new thinking. The aim of the award is to encourage and challenge students of architecture, and to create a deeper understanding of this specific and ever-relevant source of energy, light and life. The student teams will work on their projects in one of the two categories: ‘Daylight in buildings’ or ‘Daylight investigations’.

Register now

The registration for the participation in the competition is open from 1 September 2023 and stays open until 01 April 2024.  To participate in the competition, first step for students is registration with an e-mail address and a phone number. The students are then encouraged to gather their team, connect with the teacher and start developing their project already during the registration phase. In this way, students can have several months to develop their ideas into innovative and out-of-the-box daylight projects. Register here.

A source of inspiration

The International VELUX Award for students of architecture is part of the Daylight and Architecture community initiated by VELUX. Rounding up a range of unique content created by architects, journalist and researchers, the website daylightandarchitecture.com offers a rich library of filmed lectures, daylight talks, and articles.  These are especially valuable for students of architecture joining the International VELUX Award competition, for finding inspiration and expanding their understanding of the importance of daylight for the life on Earth.

About International VELUX Award
