Balneum Thermale is a project that converts a landfilled coastline in Malmö into an urban thermal bath with the ritual experience as a focus. The West Harbour has been one of Malmö’s main development areas for the past century where industrial sites have transformed into new neighbourhoods. One of the last plots is situated at the very end of the area. Here, located within the water is an old groin that can be dated back to 1938. The thermal bath is situated within the landscape - along the groin, both blending with the area setting and urban landscape.
