This project takes as its starting point in traditional Danish peasant culture, in particular past skill sets and traditions within the area of furniture and objects. The intention of the project is to place the applied methods, materials and aesthetics of the past in a contemporary context - one that is defined by new technologies, new needs and new societal challenges.
Through a exploratory and analytical process, the project resulted in a small space saving side table. The table is inspired from simple and immediate construction methods and consists of a wooden board construction that is fixated by three wooden locking pins - pins that become booth a character-giving and storytelling element for the table. It has built-in storage, is constructed without glue and is flat packable.
