“Feel My Masculinity” plays with gender and identity politics, creating a dynamic relationship between concept and craftsmanship. Each outfit scrutinizes a different aspect of the designers own masculinity and brings to life satirical reflections on male domination. Comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable. The collection is made from 75% recycled materials sourced in Copenhagen.

A full leather set consisting of a biker jacket and bootcut pants. The look embodies my ideal version of hyper masculinity. Both referencing biker culture and leather daddies, it’s an inclusive outfit open to fluid identity expression. By using gender modular functions the jacket can shift between feminine and masculine expressions by playing with asymmetrical layers of dominance and aggression. The Bulge leather pants come with a padded pouch in the front for storing and protecting the wearer’s masculinity. The leather is 100% upcycled with the outer shell being waste from furniture production and inner facings locally sourced second hand garments.
Exploring masculinity with sartorial values.
Inspired by how my own feminine values have sometimes been treated by other men, the outfit takes the word sissy and turns it on its head. A boatneck dress with flower motifs embraces my femininity by using the womanly domestic craft of crochet. The biker inspired leather corset then represents the constriction and dominance of modernist masculinity. The silhouette projects my inner conflicts between feminine and masculine identities. Using voluntary objectification and domination it disrupts the gender hierarchy. A reference to the dominatrix, one of the few female positions of power not associated with any form of masculinity. The leather is 100% upcycled leather waste. The crochet is made with yarn consisting of Icelandic wool and Thai silk produced by collaborator Einrúm (https://yarn.einrum.com/)
Narrating my inner conflicts between feminine and masculine.
This outfit symbolizes how reckless I've sometimes been in the past. During a large part of my life I was terrified of being seen as frail or cowardly as a result for being gay. So what I did was fabricate a more extreme and often self-sabotaging version of myself, sometimes leading to bad consequences. The main piece of this silhouette is a pair of motorcycle racing pants giving the notion of speed for the wearer. Worn only with a tank top and no jacket shows just how reckless this biker is, and how delicate a flower can be. The pants are upcycled from furniture production waste and the tank top is 100% tencel jersey.
Contemplating why I don't want to be delicate.
