'Inhabiting the sea' aims to enable and articulate a sustainable extension of Tórshavn, capital of Faroe Islands. By 2100, sea level rise and climate change will have a severe impact on the world's coastal cities. The approach of this project considers adaptive possibilities; exploring the spatial qualities of the sea on a vertical axis, embracing the seafaring nature of Faroese living.

The proposed architecture is removed from the matrix of the nearby town, resulting in the need of specific functions and services to be implemented in the proposal.
Such as: Water, Heat & Energy Systems.
By prefabrication of modules in a monocoque system the typologies of the rig can be manipulated to the certain site specific requirements. 3D printed monocoque architecture allows for a double curvature shell; making the construction of each unit material-preserving and hard like an eggshell.
