Fashion Dreaming is a unique workshop hosted by the Royal Danish Academy and Copenhagen Fashion Week. This event will take you on a journey to the future of fashion, where sustainability and harmony with Earth are at the forefront. Together, we will look back at the vital decisions and realisations made between 2020-2050 that replaced destructive practices and economic models with better solutions.

Today, sustainability discussions often stay within the limitations of our current understanding of the fashion industry—its operations, its appearance, the role of designers, and what we buy and wear. These discussions typically focus on the material level with a technical emphasis on hard data and measurability, which can be difficult for consumers, designers, media, and the industry to grasp and act upon. Fashion Dreaming offers a different perspective. We invite you to be dreamers, to dream with us and make the future tangible and actionable.

By the end of the event, you will know exactly what steps to take to contribute to a better future for the next generations. This event is part of the research project 'Planetary Dreaming,' led by Professor, PhD in design Ida Engholm. It is conducted in collaboration with Klothing – Center for Apparel, Textiles & Ecology Research, led by associate professor, PhD in design and sustainability Else Skjold, and graduate students from the MA program 'Fashion, Clothing & Textiles: New Landscapes for Change.'
