Specialising in transformation, materials and atmosphere, the project sees the regeneration of an old Cold War Watchtower at Stevns Klint to improve its function as a Bird Observation Tower. In combination with new construction of a number of Solitude Bird Hides which provide infrastructure for the many birdwatchers and tourists that visit the site each year.

Original Cold War Watchtower at Mandehoved: Photograph of the original Cold War Tower, used as part of the missile defence centre for NATO during the Cold War. Currently used by birdwatchers and tourists to get a vantage point over the nature reserve.
Documenting the process and development from this thesis which explores how Birdwatching can become a more integral part of the Sustainable Tourism Strategy at Stevns Klint.
