Kerlaug: Sauna Tent - A Collaboration with Nordisk

With its centuries-old tradition, the sauna continues to be a popular choice for leisure activities. Inspired by yurts and nomadic culture, I explored tent typology and designed one to function as a sauna. In collaboration with Nordisk, I have created a mobile sauna tent. It offers numerous health benefits and includes various components to enhance the sauna experience.

Together with Nordisk, the aim is to create a highly efficient, mobile sauna with an interior volume of approximately 5-10 m³ and four-person seating. The focus is on maximizing energy efficiency by minimizing the sauna space while ensuring a delightful sauna experience. The goal is to develop a sauna tent solution that addresses the high demand of individual consumers by providing an affordable and easy-to-assemble option.

The sauna tent is heated by a stove that can be either electric or wood-fired. This project uses an existing sauna stove from a company called Morzh. This portable sauna is designed for versatile use on a beach, harbour, at festival events, or in office courtyards, etc.
