Leave No One Behind (LNOB) is the central, transformative promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This session will present Universal design as a means to assuring that the pledge is honored, and no one is left behind on the journey towards 2030 and beyond. This includes reflections on:

  • How is our collective understanding of humanity reflected in our vision of a future sustainable architecture?
  • What is the potential for architecture in realizing the SDG pledge to Leave No One Behind?
  • Which types of interdisciplinary knowledge are needed to accommodate for the diversity of human beings in the process?

An interdisciplinary panel of international experts will discuss the challenges and potential of Universal design and look into what a more diverse view of humanity can teach us about inclusion, sustainability, and architectural quality.
