This project is about the transformation of a XVI century site in Tivoli Terme (Lazio, Italy) into an institution for designers and architects to experiment with the waste materials produced from the extraction of travertine. Travertine is a natural stone characteristic of Tivoli's territory, with an extensive history of use dating back to the Roman times. Today, this precious resource is being exploited, with excessive waste resulting from its production. This project addresses the current status of travertine by experimenting with its waste, questioning how the material is perceived and commonly used.
