Furniture Design
Projekt af
Lærke Ryom Nielsen

The project deals with sustainable production of furniture and consumption of resources by drafting a structural principle for strong furniture assembled without tools, screws or glue to create that minimises the use of materials.

These pieces of furniture are easy to make and can be flat-packed for being sent as freight. The individual components can be replaced if necessary and the materials are easy to reuse at the end of the furniture’s service life.

The project creates sustainable furniture in a price category that is affordable for everyone, thereby competing with multinationals such as IKEA whose sustainable profile is hopelessly outdated. The aim is to make sustainability an accessible option for all consumers, and the furniture demonstrates that making sustainable choices does not require anyone to comprise on aesthetics or durability.
