InXects Suit

Dato

Activate your body in an artificial eco-system that will convert toxic plastic into edible proteins.

At the exhibition '70 % Less CO2' you can explore the project 'InXects Suit'.

The InXects suit confronts the issues of future food security and plastic waste management. The project addresses these challenges by processing plastic waste into a sustainable protein source.

The InXects suit is a mobile plastic waste management and protein harvesting system. Through the suit and its technology, humans and mealworms can coexist in mutual symbiosis. Mealworms contain high quality proteins and are superior in terms of carbon footprint, compared to commercial proteins such as beef, pork and chicken.

Wearing the suit, a human can provide a mealworm colony with shelter, heat, humidity and plastic waste. In return, the mealworms harmlessly eat the plastic and break it down into edible, high-quality proteins.

The suit enables individuals to take responsibility for issues of plastic waste management and food security simply by using their own body.
