The availability of digital design techniques enables designers to control a high degree of complexity inherent to the construction process. With the aid of computation, para-metric software and analysis tools architects can take advantage material and construc-tion requirements to inform and develop design.

A new understanding of design will be explored within the workshop. We will look at external parameters driving design – context and data being sampled, evaluated, within a framework of flexible rules – crystallizing finally into the physical realm.

We will explore how a combination of local behaviour and digital fabrication can create specific artefacts and will strive to enhance the emergent affects in the design series in cooperation with JJW architects .
