The Tube Table project emerged from a clear problem statement: the need for flexible, space-efficient furniture in a world where we need more compact living.

The primary objective was to create a table that could adapt to various spatial constraints without compromising on functionality or aesthetics. Inspired by trends in urbanization and minimalism, the table's design reflects the growing demand for versatile furniture that can easily be stored, extended, or folded.

This design enables users to reconfigure their living spaces for different activities, from yoga and child play to communal dining and home offices, thus enhancing the overall living experience.

I see a meaningful way in how can we fashion a living environment where the essence of freedom lies in the ease and comfort with which we can customize and adapt our homes to the space.

A larger portion of this project as been bridging Furniture design with Industrial design. Developing a specialized hinge and folding function for the the table to make it fold flat.

CV

Hi, my name is Otto Kubista, thank you for viewing my profile.

My interests as a designer is bridging the gap of industrial design and furniture design. Foldability, functionality and movement is something I implement in all the objects I create.

I believe that we might live in homes which are too static and I enjoy imagining the home as mouldable, that we can change our interior based on needs and moods.  Please watch more of what I make at my instagram profile: @kubistaotto
