Introduction to the project

Shifting Shores explores an alternative strategy to transform Avedøre Holme. It emphasizes a long-term relocation plan, engaging with marine life in a coastal setting. The project reimagines a 1960s industrial area, showcasing urban adaptation to rising sea levels, resource scarcity, and pollution. It focuses on harmonizing future resilience while preserving the site's historical memory

As part of a strategic relocation plan - The project is oriented around a visionary exploration of the new landscape
This project explores the concept of retreating Denmark's biggest industrial area within the finger plan. This is to explore alternative ways of securing both the industri and the workplaces itself, but also taking into account that risk areas of flooding as a part of the planning. In that way prioritising the space for fostering a diverse marine life and species related to coasts.
