Museum Interiors

Author
Ane Pilegaard

The research centres around museum architecture and exhibition design with a particular focus on the relation between them. It combines a historical perspective on museum interiors with a contemporary view on how historical museum architecture and display furniture can be activated in exhibition design today.

About Ane Pilegaard
In her research, AP focuses on spatial and material aspects of museum interiors and display design. AP is interested in the ambiguous and shifting spatial aesthetics of museum interiors: how they allow for intimate object encounters, while also being public spaces for social engagement, and how they combine permanent and temporary structures. For instance, when old historical museums are renovated or transformed, and when permanent museum architecture meets temporary exhibition design.
