UIA World Congress Student Academy 2023: A Society Built for Every Body

As part of the official programme for the UIA World Congress of Architects the Royal Academy organizes and hosts a UIA World Congress Student Academy “A Society Built for Every Body”, under the overall congress theme "Sustainable Futures - Leave No One Behind".

In total 50 architecture students from all over the world are invited to join the Student Academy. “A Society Built for Every Body” celebrates differences and is building on many years of practice at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen in introducing students to artistic approaches to universal design thinking and how to place diversity at the core of the design process. 

Learning more about Universal design thinking and methodology will provide the Student Academy students with valuable tools to contribute to creating a more accessible and inclusive world for more people, regardless of age, physical and psychological (cognitive) differences, without distancing them from one another. 

The aim of the Student Academy is to engage and encourage students from all over the world to embrace and reflect on diversity – and how we might build a society for ‘Every Body’.
