The graduation project tries to investigate the possibilities for an industrial production of fired clay blocks with local raw materials. The study is based on the planetary boundaries (PB) and the challenge that lies in defining and quantifying the human and biophysical activities, including the ability to quantify the industrys activities within the PB’s safe operating space.
The project is structured as a tripartite, where material, production and construction are examined. Local raw materials will be highlighted, which are necessary in the manufacture of an insulated clay block. In conclusion, an argument is made for the necessity between form and matter.
