The wind is, indeed, the unbelievablysoft, ultimate fossil.’ - GanTanikawa, 1989

There are sentences and feelings that just linger around in the back of your mind throughout life. It appears suddenly for no apparent reason. The above quote was mine. I am always intrigued by the uncertainty of the physical world and seemingly the opposite realm of ephemeral universe. This project was to investigate the both realms by the use of wind as a metaphor for abstract and invisible idea and ceramc as the rigid material world.

'When the windblows, when it caresses the cheek, one’s thoughts might wander into a timeless and spaceless universe. Taking the metaphysical properties of wind as a starting point, the aimwas to merge and to explore the spectrum of physical and non-physical reality. The rigid physicality of ceramics serves as a whisper of the opposing realm. Just as that wind blows, subtly yet firmly.'
