Designed for disassembly
Split Table investigates the subject of disassembly furniture. The design is based on experiments with joints in aluminum-sheets which are the basis for a new way to assemble a piece of furniture, in this case a small dining table. This furniture can be packed flat for easier transportation and storage.
These properties are a part of a sustainable perspective and contributes to the UN’s 17 world goals - Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production. The table is produced using sustainable production methods and recyclable materials. The tabletop is made of plywood and the surface is colored with pigmented linseed oil. The materials contribute differently to the construction: the aluminum acts as customized fittings, joining the table together and the plywood adds a soft tactility and color.
