"Stay a While"
“Stay a While” explores our common values within dress. By translating the qualities of modified paper into garments through a lens shaped by personal experience with colour, care and creativity as a child, I aim to build upon a shared experience; the A4 sheet and the impact of colour.
Combined with classic artistry principles, I embrace simple techniques and grid-like structures to build around and complement the form and natural movement of women's bodies. My work intertwines material knowledge, bodily awareness, and artistic expertise to create fashion that prompts reflection on our perceptions of values in relation to dressing the body and general fashion consumption.
Further, this project shows the potential of colour, the enchantment of elevating the ordinary via craftsmanship and lastly; the art of curating the body in a simple yet expressive manner.
"All kinds of care should be highly valued - it pays off on so many levels."
