Tap Tap Island is a minimalistic city builder game about building up your own little island. You have to balance resources and consider each action you take to make your citizens happy. Every building you place affects its surroundings.

My goal was to convey the UN Sustainable Development goals through gameplay. The game teaches you about the compromises that a city planner needs to think about, in a simplified and fun way.

The game will be released soon on the browser gaming platform Poki, where millions of people play games every day. Later we might consider a mobile release with help from Gearhead Games, who also handled the programming for the project.

Legatudvalget sagde: ” With this computer game, Xureong makes the UN's sustainability goals more understandable and relevant to people. The game is a well-designed resource game where your choices affect the environment. You play as a city planner whose choices can have far-reaching consequences. The game is broadly applicable and balances play and learning within the genre collectively known as serious games and more specifically eco games”.
