Brand Identity Designer (Freelance)
Brand Identity Designer (Freelance)
About Us
We’re an emerging skincare brand based in NYC. We’re building something from the ground up and are looking for a designer to shape how it looks, feels and tells its story.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a recent graduate or final-year student to develop our full brand identity. This is a rare chance to build a brand from zero rather than inherit one. Your work will go directly to market in premium physical retail and e-commerce, so it will be seen, held and shopped by real customers. It’s a meaningful, real-world portfolio piece. You’ll work directly with our founder and creative director.
We do not treat identity as a logo exercise. We want to work with designer(s) who explore creative directions that capture and show different possible worlds: how the brand could look, sound, move and behave in real situations. These directions are not loose moodboards, they are designed to help us make decisions with clarity.
What You’ll Create
- Concept and execute distinctive ideas and designs
- Logo and wordmark system
- Typography system
- Color Palette
- Supporting identity elements
- Applications across packaging, web and retail materials
- Brand guidelines, final assets and working files
What We’re Looking For
- A creative mind with a strong eye for craft and detail
- Strong organization and the ability to manage a project from brief to final files
- Clear, proactive communication and a collaborative approach to feedback
- Experience with a range of design and creative workflow tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma)
- A portfolio demonstrating brand identity or related work (student work welcome)
- Preferred, not required: experience with emerging skincare, beauty or lifestyle brands
Details
- Engagement: Freelance, project-based
- Compensation: Paid; project fee to be discussed
- Timeline: ASAP start (duration: a month)
- Location: Remote/Hybrid
- Ownership and credit: The brand owns all final work. The designer retains the right to show the work in their portfolio and will be credited
- Confidentiality: Because we are in stealth mode, selected applicants will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before project details are shared
