LAND OF FORGOTTEN ANCESTORS

My collection has drawn its inspiration from the strong metaphorical and visual language that is used in the art film ”The Color of Pomegranates”, and the way it depicts the Armenian culture through fragments of montage, that together from a unit.

My project tells the story of the annihilation of the Armenian people and the survival of their cultural identity and faith despite the county’s bloody history.

Exploring the contrasts within a country that is situated in the crossroads of Europe and Asia and how those elements are reflected in the country’s culture, identity and history.
