In response to the developer dominated affordable housing crisis in rural England CRAFT CRAFT CRAFT proposes a community-led model of developing and constructing in Penzance, Cornwall.

Using the design of the house as an entry point to question the standard practices of house-building in the UK this project proposes a new model of construction using hempcrete as the primary building material to take advantage of local skills and resources to provide affordable and good quality homes.

The project imagines an alternative way to build homes in response to Prime Minister Boris Johnson's planning reform announced in summer 2020 in a speech titled ‘Build Build Build’.
