“Can realistic space physics be simplified and gamified to make it fun and engaging for players, while still portraying space travel fairly accurately?”
Orbital is an innovative sci-fi space rogue-like game that provides the unique gameplay experience of navigating through the universe using realistic Newtonian physics. Challenging the unrealistic portrayal of space flight in entertainment, Orbital aims to bridge the gap between science-fiction and real-world physics, making it both entertaining and educational.
The project showcases a vertical slice of the game's navigation system, which relies on orbital mechanics and procedural generation of the celesetial bodies.
