12 daylight lamps, each one representing a month of the year, through handwoven textiles, floral patterns and steel screens.
Every month is different regarding light, color, emotions and nature, which was translated into creating 12 handwoven textiles. The light emission in the lamps are calculated and lasercut, according to data on natural daylight in Denmark. The amount of light in each lamp, is the opposite of how much light the month has, compensating for the light we lack during the year.
The project explores Danes´ relationship with natural and artificial light. Living in a Northern country with a large light contrast between the Winter and Summer, we depend on light in a special way. But we also have busy and demanding lives in our modern society, which can make us tend to forgot how much natural daylight, and the lack of it, affect our well being.
The project offers reflection on light, time and natures cycle, as well as our own personal relationship with the light and our bodies.
