My research explores design at the intersection of materiality and spatiality. I understand furniture and product design as material configurations, developed and perceived in relation to specific spatial contexts and making up spatial environments of their own. The experiential qualities of such spatial-material environments are at the core of my research.

SURFACES
Many of the surfaces we encounter in our daily lives are standardised, flat and generic. However, we also see a movement towards more tactile and responsive surface textures.
Surfaces is a key topic in my work, making it possible to focus on bodily encounters with furniture and design products as well as the spatial environments they produce and take part in. One of the contexts in which I explore these matters is exhibition design and museums spaces, which has been heavily affected by digital technologies these last decades, turning surfaces into screens and spaces into generic containers. Through my research I point to alternative design strategies, emphasizing the rich experiential qualities of materials, surfaces, and the spatial environments they create.
