I am an architect and researcher curious about architecture as a way to understand and shape the world we live in. My research specialises in materials in architecture, circular economy, ecology and tectonics of disassembly as strategies for increasing sustainability in the built environment.

Current research project: Material Talks
Material Talks is a project investigating the role of materials in architecture and how these relate to the natural resource base and societal issues at large. As materials in architecture often are considered very concretely the perspectives are broadened by artistic positions where materials also are carriers of meaning – they are images of something outside the matter itself. The project brings together practising architects and artists in carefully structured conversations, to push cross-disciplinary perspectives for an expanded material literacy. One that treats building materials not solely as utilitarian resources with metrical performance and embodied C02, but as heavily embedded in cultural, historical, political, and ecological aspects.
