Today, much of the knowledge that architects and architecture students seek is obtained through digital platforms. But it is difficult to obtain a comprehensive overview of sustainable solutions that are qualified by an architectural motivation and good building practices. The range of materials and construction solutions today is unmanageably large. I collect exemplary and distinct construction techniques based on well-built solutions and develop in the publications Applied Construction Techniques in Danish Architecture contemporary building typologies consisting of a 4-5-storey rectangular building body.

The legendary Construction Book ‘Byggebogen’ from the 1950s, edited by architect/professor at the Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Department of Construction Technology Poul Kjærgaard, has been an essential reference work for architects and architecture students when they needed to seek knowledge about best building practice. 'Byggebogen' was a first attempt to academize knowledge that was embedded in the traditional construction methods of the time. It was also a comprehensive overview of new construction techniques that were under development in an emerging industrialization of construction processes and products. The richly illustrated content was continuously updated by researchers and practitioners and this platform of knowledge formed a solid foundation for a long series of distinguished buildings of the time.
