My work seeks to develop sustainable approaches for robustness, longevity and circularity. It is positioned at the cross-over of architecture, structural/material efficiency and building technology focusing on wood. Through interdisciplinary investigations I work with structural and material systems where the combination of artistic and scientific methods informs novel approaches and solutions.

Editor of a Special issue of the Journal of IASS 2026

As a chairperson of the IASS WG 20 (on Teaching of Shell and Spatial Structures) I have been selected to edit a Special issue of the Journal of IASS (International Association of Shell and Spatial Structures) entitled

Teaching for a more sustainable future: topics, design approaches and qualifying methods

Motivated by the climate crisis that seeks more sustainable solutions, the journal collects 12 invited articles that present research led teaching developed at different  international academic environments from Europe, Asia, South and North America.

The articles differ and cover from holistic to very narrow and focused approaches, topics and methodologies including topics as AI tools for sustainable purposes, cross-laminated studio based teaching methods, material saving folded plywood lightweight structures, Tensegrity structures as a pedagogical framework covering challenges in the design, geometry, and spatial Integration, Tri-directional learning in sustainable industrial architecture: connecting teaching, research, and practice, just to mention a few. The articles are a representiation of the a current state of the art offering a cross-section of sustainable research developed and communicated in educational environments in different countries globally.
