To confront anthropocentrism, this research-based project explored the new materiality to build a novel design framework with embeded non-human agency which in this case a special bioluminescent algae. By designing the co-living space, it binds a reciprocal relationship with algae to our daily life and harvests secondary effects such as aesthetic and emotional value.

We have altered the natural balance rapidly because of anthropocentrism during the last  250 years. We are in this new era, the anthropocene. We humans for a long time, have been used to being anthropocentric, asking way too much from nature. It’s the right time to change.
