InXects Island is an autonomous building complex based in The Faroe Islands. The proposal addresses some of the most extreme environmental challenges humanity will meet in the year 2100, such as food security, sea level rise, housing and plastic pollution. The building aims to create an inhabitable ecosystem where humans, insects, plants and robots can thrive together in a symbiotic relationship.
