Helgoland is a German tourist island situated in the North Sea.
Inspired by literature, the interior spaces of the museum are designed to guide the visitor through the history of Helgoland, similar to how the narrative structure guides the reader through a story.
On the exterior, the building reacts to the local landscape and the shifts that will occur as a result of future environmental changes.
