Scavenging Architecture

With this project, I attempt to put a focus on an underin- vestigated field - architectural cannibalism. As modern construction culture has tended to disregard debris and demolition sites as useless waste, the notion that one can take a piece of rubble and use it as a load-bearing brick remains starkly unconsidered. The objective of my project is to develop a design method that redefines building matter and engages the afterlife of buildings as a design opportunity rather than discarding it.
