Academy Talks Design: John Tree

Academy Talks Design is an open lecture series held on Tuesday evenings at 16:15 at Holmen. The programme brings leading international practitioners to Copenhagen to share perspectives, critical insights, and approaches to contemporary design. Open to all, the talks offer a rare opportunity to engage with a broad range of influential voices shaping design practice.

After gaining experience at both Sony and Jasper Morrison’s design studios, John Tree founded his own practice in 2016. The studio works across furniture, lighting and electronics, collaborating with international clients such as HAY, Hydro, Muuto, Naught One, Motorola, Nine, Resident, Roli, Tala and VG&P.

Tree has received multiple awards and accolades including iF Design, Red Dot, and Gold “G-Mark” awards. His work has been selected for the Millennium Product Collection and the permanent collection at MoMA.
