Launch Seminar – Magasin for Bygningskunst og Kultur no. 11: Kay Fisker

The 11th issue of the Magasin for Bygningskunst og Kultur is dedicated to the Danish architect Kay Fisker (1893-1965), who, until recently, had received only sporadic international attention. The magazine will be launched with a seminar at which the contributors will present their articles.

This issue is the most comprehensive to date produced by the Institute of Architecture and Culture. It contains no fewer than seven peer-reviewed academic articles, two KUV contributions and nine essays by both international researchers and practitioners, as well as researchers from the Royal Danish Academy – Architecture, Design, Conservation.

Rather than aiming to (re)canonise Fisker, the issue invites readers to familiarise themselves with his work and ideas, offering a reappraisal and a set of open questions about anonymity, domesticity, craft, and the social role of architecture that feel more urgent than ever.
