Seminar: The Human Body in Architectural and Design Education

The seminar brings together international and local voices exploring human diversity in design pedagogies.

The seminar “The Human Body in Architectural and Design Education” focuses on diverse bodies, foregrounding disability as a starting point for architectural and design education. It explores intergenerational relationships between teaching practices and the shaping of approaches and methodologies centring diverse bodies in education.  

The seminar asks the question: 
How has the understanding of the human body changed over time and what are the implications in architectural and design education?

 The seminar is organised by Centre for Spatial Inclusion together with MA programme Spatial Design at Institute of Architecture and Space. The seminar is supported by Bevica Foundation, Realdania and Royal Danish Academy. 

Location

The auditorium is located on the ground floor and is accessible through step-free entrance (entrance J). An accessible restroom is located at the adjacent entrance (entrance K). The auditorium is primarily illuminated by natural light. During video presentations, windows will be obscured to enhance visual contrast on the screen.

Communication at the event

Speech-to-text system will be used to transcribe the spoken words into text as live captions. The event will have sign language interpretation.
