In order to understand ourselves and our place in the world, we look for clues in others to identify ourselves. These sculptures are an invitation to contemplate what it is that we are looking for, when comparing ourselves to others. By working with the tactile qualities of the clay, few visual attributes makes us recognize the sculptures as living, sentient beings.

Through amorphous, abstract shapes, the sculptures explore the complexities of social norms and dwell on soft values that are difficult to grasp intellectually.
