About the Academy & UIA 2023

On 2-6 July 2023, Copenhagen is the host city for the UIA World Congress of Architecture. 10,000 architects from all over the world will attend the world congress in Bella Center, but also Copenhagen, which is the UNESCO World Capital of Architecture 2023.

The congress's theme 'Sustainable Futures - Leave no one behind' is directly linked to the UN's 17 Global Goals, which the Royal Danish Academy has worked strategically to contribute to since 2016 - in research, teaching, graduation projects and communication initiatives. The purpose of the congress is to discuss, develop and demonstrate architecture's ability to interact with the UN's Global Goals.

The Royal Danish Academy is one of several founding partners, and therefore contributes with a number of UIA events as part of the official programme, but also with parallel events.
